Hold onto your Heeler ears, Disney fans! Rumors are swirling that the beloved Affection Section petting zoo at Disney's Animal Kingdom might be closing its gates. But why? The answer, it seems, might be the arrival of a certain Bluey experience.
Whispers of the Affection Section's Demise
Cast members at the Affection Section are reportedly sharing the news with guests: the petting zoo's days are numbered. While nothing is officially confirmed, the timing aligns perfectly with the upcoming Bluey experience.
Here's the scoop: Disney announced last year that starting in the summer of 2026, guests at Walt Disney World Resort will be able to embark on a fun adventure to Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There, you can play and dance with Bluey and Bingo! The experience will also include a meet-and-greet opportunity and a chance to see animals native to Bluey's home country, Australia.
The Affection Section, while technically a separate entity from Conservation Station, could potentially be closing to make room for this exciting Bluey expansion. But here's where it gets controversial... Some fans are already expressing disappointment at the potential loss of the petting zoo, a long-time favorite for families.
Where Will Bluey Land?
Initially, speculation pointed towards the Bluey experience taking over the current Animation Experience space. However, with a version of the Animation Experience slated to return to the new Magic of Disney Animation at Disney's Hollywood Studios this summer, the plot thickens.
The Affection Section's current operating hours are posted through March 14, the furthest date currently available on the Walt Disney World calendar. However, keep in mind that these hours are always subject to change.
